The restoration + waterproofing division completed a full façade restoration the historic Asheville First Baptist Church in downtown Asheville, NC.
Project scope include:
- Full rebuild of the brick and terra cotta parapet walls.
- New walls formed in place
- Reinforced concrete with a brick skin
- Resetting of the existing terra cotta coping stones on new through wall flashing.
- All new terra cotta was made for the front elevation.
- All deteriorated mortar joints were repointed in the terra cotta and the brick.
- All new joint sealants.
- Terra cotta patching and repairs.
- Exposed steel was cleaned and coated.
- The entire brick façade was hand cleaned and protected with a clear penetrating water repellent.
