Optimist Hall

WxP completed masonry remedial repairs to a historic structure that was converted into food courts. Project consisted of selective pointing, patching, parging, staining and hand cleaning needed for owner to achieve tax credits. All work was performed in strict accordance with Preservation Briefs by the National Park Service (NPS) meeting the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) standards.

Revolution Mill

Existing conditions consist of a six-story facility constructed with brick masonry exterior walls and reinforced concrete floor framing. The first floor was elevated due to the flood plain from the adjacent creek and the underlying concrete floor components exhibited distress. Typically historical structures possess alternative construction materials like stone, brick, granite, cast stone and terra-cotta.  Although these products have stood the test of time, they are not maintenance free.

Historical structures frequently display substrate deterioration from cracks and surface erosion that can contribute to structural deficiencies from freeze/thaw attack and corrosion development. If left unattended, these defects can lead to public safety concerns and expensive cumulative repairs.

Our team will work to restore and protect these structures while preserving their value in history working with local regulatory agencies to adhere to all standards and best practices.

Our team can help with these maintenance and repairs to concrete structures including parking decks:
