Restoration + WaterProofing

WxProofing is the specialty waterproofing and restoration division of WxTite. These two companies merged together in 2022 to provide a comprehensive approach to meeting our clients’ building needs. This merger goes beyond a simple unification; it represents a holistic solution for everything from new construction to maintenance and repair.  WxP has been doing work in the industry since 2016 and is recognized for  expertise in restoring and revitalizing building facades that result in long-lasting and durable weatherproofing solutions.

Wells Fargo Tower

WxP completed waterproofing façade restoration to a 21-story high-rise office building located in a downtown metropolitan district. Scope included window wet glazing, precast sealant replacement (2 lines), patching of surface spalls and cracks, cleaning severely soiled surfaces using high pressure hot water process, and protecting the parapet backside with acrylic elastomeric paint.

Optimist Hall

WxP completed masonry remedial repairs to a historic structure that was converted into food courts. Project consisted of selective pointing, patching, parging, staining and hand cleaning needed for owner to achieve tax credits. All work was performed in strict accordance with Preservation Briefs by the National Park Service (NPS) meeting the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) standards.

Revolution Mill

Existing conditions consist of a six-story facility constructed with brick masonry exterior walls and reinforced concrete floor framing. The first floor was elevated due to the flood plain from the adjacent creek and the underlying concrete floor components exhibited distress. Our team repaired overhead and vertical concrete spalls, beams, and columns. There were 148 CF of beams, 200 CF of columns and 2 carbon fiber wraps involved in this project.

Our team is well versed to handled a multitude of waterproofing issues including the repair and replacement of:

  • Water Repellents
  • Sub-grade Waterproofing
  • Horizontal Rubberized Asphalt & Thermoplastic Membranes
  • Protective Wall Coatings
  • Deck Coatings
  • Expansion Joints

The average life expectancy of most sealants around windows/doors, between precast panels and expansion joints in masonry or concrete slabs is between 7 to 20 years. Periodic assessment and maintenance is critical to preventing water intrusion or deterioration to the substrate. Our team is able to assess, repair and replace:

  • Masonry Expansion Joints
  • Precast Panel Joints
  • Slab Control/Expansion Joints
  • Wet Glaze Sealants

Masonry and Concrete Restoration

Historical Preservation

Typically historical structures possess alternative construction materials like stone, brick, granite, cast stone and terra-cotta.  Although these products have stood the test of time, they are not maintenance free. Historical structures frequently display substrate deterioration from cracks and surface erosion that can contribute to structural deficiencies from freeze/thaw attack and corrosion development. If left unattended, these defects can lead to public safety concerns and expensive cumulative repairs. Our team will work to restore and protect these structures while preserving their value in history working with local regulatory agencies to adhere to all standards and best practices.

Parking Decks

With all parking structures, maintenance is critical to ensuring that each of the structural components meet the maximum expected service life. Our team can help with these maintenance and repairs to parking decks and garages:

  • Concrete Wash Replacement
  • Crack Treatment
  • Joint Sealant Replacement
  • Expansion Joint Replacement
  • Spall Repairs
  • Pressure Cleaning
  • Water Repellents and Polyurethane Deck Coatings

Structural Repairs/ Strengthening

Structural strengthening is used to  increase performance and strength of structural members to help carry intended and/or additional loads. The need for structural strengthening is usually dictated by building codes, change in building use, deterioration or degradation, and deficiencies caused by design and/or construction errors. Our structural repair services include:

  • Beams, Columns, Walls, Slabs
  • Axial Load Enhancement
  • Seismic Retrofits
  • Carbon Fiber Strengthening
