WxTite is proud to be leading the roofing renovation of the Greensboro Central Library, right in the heart of Downtown Greensboro!
Led by Project Manager Hunter Joyce, this 56,000 square foot project is no small feat. With limited space for material delivery and crane operations, coordinating in a high-traffic urban area has been a challenge — but one our team has tackled head-on.
Thanks to Hunter’s planning and the steady, hands-on supervision from Superintendent Greg Castanela, we’ve maintained uninterrupted public access to the library while ensuring safety for all. From closing sidewalks and parking spots to occasionally halting road traffic, every move has been calculated to keep the community protected and informed.
The scope includes a full tear-off down to the metal deck — removing pavers, EPDM, insulation, and gypsum board — followed by installation of 5/8” Securock, two layers of 2” adhered poly-iso insulation, ¼” Securock, and topped off with a 45 mil FiberTite fleeceback membrane.
We’re nearly 25% complete and on track to wrap this project in just two more months!
Shout out to our hardworking crew for making it happen, and to the City of Greensboro for the partnership. Stay tuned for more progress updates!
